After purchasing a brand new digital camera it is very very common of the users to be enthusiastic about carrying their cool digital camera for a trip. It is an urge to explore the world through the eyes of the device and surprisingly it appears so new and unexplored. But along with this adventurous idea some other questions also crop into the mind of the users; "Is it safe to carry my digital camera by air, are airport x-ray machines a risk to this most prized device of mine?" The answers require to be solved as the myths and facts that remain intermingled together in all these confusions are fatal for the psychology of the users and can spoil the entire emotion! This discussion is therefore very strictly focused toward that noble effort of separating the facts from the myth and provides the users with what they really deserve.

Looking at the experience of various people who have been traveling with their digital cameras, a lot of information can be assimilated and imparted to the reader from them. Traveling by air people should intelligently consider using an x-ray bag. This is because X-ray bags are lead-lined pouches premeditated to protect the components of the digital camera and its accessories from airport x-ray devices. Nowadays it is a fact due to the latest technological advancements that airport security is tighter, and this ensures the fact that x-ray machines are more powerful, so x-ray bags are a real good idea. However the good news is that X-ray machines apparently do not harm digital flash cards.

As per common survey it can be ascertained that global companies like Canon, Sony, and Olympus have claimed that the x-ray machines used on carry-on luggage at airports do not damage memory sticks in digital cameras. They declare that their declaration was made after they have done tests comparing security x-ray machines on their digital cameras and strictly verified all the necessary details. It is good news to know that as for digital cameras there is no problems with the airport x-ray machines as the consequently heavy metal body digital camera with CF card can be safely x-rayed without any effect. But it must be taken in mind that they do not receive much healthier dose of x-rays than carry-on, then being an electronically manufactured device it is always preferable to be upon the safer side. It is also a very cool idea to move all the images to a CD or perhaps a "digital wallet," which may offer more protection against x-rays rather than simple CF cards.

Lastly as it has already been ascertained that X-ray machines do not affect the memory cards at all, so no problems there. However taking a bit of care about the lens, one must ensure to carry them as fragile luggage and that it goes and comes out via the appropriate route to the plane so that they do not get damaged.

As per the entire discussion it is clear that the digital cameras have absolutely no risk from the airport x-ray devices. This knowledge and information is crucial for the novice and new possessors of the digital camera so that they can come out of the darkness and mist of ignorance and unnecessary fear and enjoy the bright light of reality and fact. After all the digital is but a device of light!
